Performance Task
1. Choose a partner
2. Watch the Brain Pop video independently, then discuss with your partner its
relevance.
3. Review "How to determine Unit Rate". Take notes in your math notebook
and title it "Better Buys".
a. Copy the Unit Rate vocabulary graphic organizer in your math notebook
b. You and your partner must reach a consensus on a review method
(Unit Rate Flashback or Video Review). Each member is responsible for
their own notes. Discuss and compare notes after the review.
c. Complete Unit Rate & Price Comparison Jeopardy Game. Scratch
work must be completed on a separate sheet in your math notebook.
You may move on to step 4 once you have earned 1,900 points or
higher out of 2,500 points (76% or higher).
4. Compare phone plans to determine the better buy using the graphic organizer provided. Each member is responsible for their own work.
5. Create an Advertisement to represent the better buy. Your advertisement must incorporate at least three advertisement techniques. Download and
save a copy of the guide.
a. Decide as a group which presentation format you will use to present your Ad (i.e. Commercial, Poster Board, Ppt. Prezi, etc.). Please note, students
who choose to create a commercial must select a prewriting technique for the first stage of your groups' commercial.
